Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered a six-wicket victory over the Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 41 of IPL 2026 on Wednesday, 29 April. The Wankhede Stadium witnessed a high-scoring encounter as SRH chased down a 244-run target with ease to register their fifth win on the trot. Meanwhile, it was a second consecutive defeat for the Mumbai Indians and they find themselves rooted to the ninth spot on the IPL 2026 points table. The MI vs SRH match witnessed several top moments. Let’s take a look at them. MI vs SRH Top Moments 1) Rohit Sharma’s disappointed reaction at MI’s poor bowling Rohit Sharma sported a disappointed reaction after the Mumbai Indians bowlers failed to make a mark with the ball in hand. The former captain has been recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained in a game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and has not played since. As the MI bowlers took a beating at the hands of the Sunrisers Hyderabad batters, the cameras caught the Hitman having a dejected look on his face. Not just Rohit but MI owners Akash Ambani and Nita Ambani, who were seated at the venue, looked stunned and shocked by MI’s performance. 2) Naman Dhir drops Travis Head thrice Not once or twice, but thrice. Naman Dhir who is generally a very good fielder, was far from his best against the Sunrisers when he gave three reprieves to Travis Head. And the SRH star, who has not had much of an impact, made the most to make it count for his team on the night.
The first of those dropped catches came in the third over when Head slashed at a delivery and the ball went through Naman’s hands for a six. The second time that Naman dropped Head’s catch was in the fifth over when the MI cricketer jumped but the ball brushed his fingers before going for a boundary. The third instance followed the same script. Another off-side shot and this time, Naman, who was standing right near the boundary, jumped and took the catch. But the ball fell out of his hands as he landed on the boundary rope and Head got another reprieve. 3) Salil Arora’s ‘no-look six’ against Jasprit Bumrah Amid the carnage unleashed by Abhishek Sharma, Head and Heinrich Klaasen at the Wankhede, young Salil Arora made his presence felt. And he did so by smashing none other than Jasprit Bumrah for a ‘no-look six’. This happened in the 18th over of the chase when Arora pounced on a slower ball from Bumrah and smashed it over the long-on fence for a six. 4) No review for Travis Head’s caught behind Head, who was among the heroes for SRH in this victory, could have been out pretty early on in the chase had MI appealed and reviewed for a caught behind. This happened in the third over, bowled by Trent Boult when Head tried to cut a delivery but missed it.
And no MI player appealed. Later on, replays showed that the ball had actually hit the outside edge of the left-hander’s bat and had MI appealed and used a review, they could have had the SRH star dismissed cheaply. 5) Fans sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Rohit Sharma at Wankhede Fans at the Wankhede Stadium sang happy birthday for Rohit Sharma during the MI vs SRH match, who turned 39 on 30 April. Although it wasn’t yet his birthday, fans gave him a heartwarming tribute during the game. Rohit did not play the game, continuing to miss action since his hamstring injury. 6) Tilak Varma smashes first-ball six after chat with Hardik Pandya Tilak Varma had a discussion with Hardik Pandya just as he was entering the crease. And although it was not clear as to what the discussion was about, Tilak went on to blast a first-ball six. 7) Pat Cummins looks at Hardik Pandya’s tattoo Hardik Pandya’s tattoos caught the attention of his opposite number Pat Cummins. At the toss, Cummins was seen looking at Hardik’s tattoos on his left-arm. The moment, right before the toss, went viral on social media.
8) Nitish Reddy took a wicket on the very first ball Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler Nitish Reddy started his spell in the match with a wicket. He had Will Jacks caught out on the very first ball. Reddy’s accurate line and length forced the batsman to make a mistake and brought success to the team. With this wicket, he turned the tide of the match in favor of his team. 9) Ghaznafar dismissed Abhishek-Ishan on consecutive balls In the 9th over of Hyderabad’s innings, Mumbai bowler Allah Ghazanfar took 2 wickets. First, on the fourth ball, he had Abhishek Sharma caught out by Trent Boult. On the very next ball, Ghazanfar clean bowled Ishan Kishan, who had just come to the crease.
