A Congress protest over the deteriorating law and order situation in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, turned violent on Wednesday. Party workers were attempting to burn an effigy of Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav at Chhatrasal Chowk when police intervened, leading to scuffles and clashes. Amid the chaos, the petrol-soaked effigy was set alight, and flames quickly spread, engulfing both police personnel and protesters nearby. Several people, including two police personnel, suffered burn injuries, triggering panic at the scene. After this incident, questions have been raised about the security arrangements and negligence during the demonstration. The administration has ordered an investigation into the matter and has spoken about fixing responsibility and taking action. 6 people injured in the accident During the effigy burning, Youth Congress District President Manvendra Singh and Block President Kapil Richhariya, who were caught in the fire, have been admitted to the hospital, while Sachin Singh and Manmohan Kushwaha have also suffered burns. In the accident, two policemen, Ashish Khare and Sandeep Vermawere also caught in the fire.
