The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a major relief for around one lakh employees and officers drawing salaries under the Sixth Pay Commission by increasing their Dearness Allowance (DA) by 5%. The Finance Department has issued official orders in this regard. Revised DA effective from April salary The enhanced DA will be reflected in the April 2026 salary, while the benefit will be applicable retrospectively from July 1, 2025. With this increase, the DA for these employees will rise from 252% to 257%. Arrears to be paid in 6 instalments The government has decided that arrears from July 2025 to March 2026 will be paid in six equal instalments. These payments will be made between May and October 2026. Employees and officers who retired during this period will receive the arrears as a lump sum. Seventh Pay Commission employees already benefited The state government has already increased the DA of employees under the Seventh Pay Commission by 3%, taking their total DA to 58%. The revised allowance has also been implemented from the April salary.
