Bullet pierced trader’s chest, jaw shattered in brutal attack:Victim told mother he was shot first, then crushed

They are beating my son’ — the moment I heard this, I ran. He was lying in blood. I held his head in my lap and wiped his face. He looked at me and said — mother, Vishal and Hukum shot me, then crushed me with stones. These are the words of Santosh Bai from Rajgarh, whose son was murdered by two of his cousins. Police have arrested one accused, while the other is absconding. Initial investigation points to a land dispute. Read the report… First, know the complete sequence of events from Monday night On Monday (April 13) around 10 pm, property dealer Rambabu Gurjar (26) was shot dead. About 300 metres before the village, on a deserted stretch, his cousins Vishal and Hukum Gurjar allegedly laid a trap by placing stones on the road to stop his motorcycle. As Rambabu slowed down, they shot him in the chest. He collapsed immediately. The attackers did not stop there and smashed his face with stones. The family rushed him to hospital after being informed, but doctors declared him dead. Younger son Deepak’s wedding is scheduled for April 24 Rambabu’s mother Santosh Bai said that her younger son Deepak’s wedding is on April 24. Mata Pujan was scheduled for April 19 and the reception on April 25. Rambabu was busy with the preparations. The lagun had arrived on Monday and there was happiness in the house. Rambabu’s wife is pregnant. She had told her mother-in-law that she would visit her maternal home for a couple of days as she might not get time later. Santosh Bai agreed. After the lagun arrived, Rambabu first placed the card before God and then went out to distribute it. Heard about stone pelting and left the bhajan to run Santosh Bai said that a bhajan programme was going on at home at night. Women were singing devotional songs. Around 10 pm, a villager Sandeep came running and said Rambabu was being attacked with stones. Hearing this, she left the bhajan and ran. About 300 metres from the house, her son was lying in blood. His Bullet motorcycle was lying nearby. She sat beside him, took his head in her lap and wiped his face with her pallu. He was writhing in pain. Son told – Vishal and Hukum shot him “When I asked what happened, he told me — Vishal and Hukum shot him and also attacked him with stones. As he said this, his eyes closed,” she added. He was taken to hospital, where he was declared dead. Post-mortem revealed the bullet pierced through the left side of his chest. His jaw was broken, one ear torn, and he had deep head injuries and serious wounds to the eye due to stone attacks. There was a land dispute between husband and paternal uncle father-in-law Santosh Bai said Vishal is the son of her elder brother-in-law, while Hukum is from her husband’s uncle’s side. She said there had been a land dispute earlier between her husband and Hukum’s father, and a complaint had also been filed. She demanded strict punishment, saying the accused have ruined her family by killing her son, leaving behind a pregnant wife and a young daughter. Mother said – Son’s killers should be hanged She said Rambabu had gone out in the morning to distribute cards and was returning home at night after finishing market work. He was married three years ago and has a daughter. “They have made my daughter-in-law a widow, taken away the father from my granddaughter and the support of our old age. The killers should be hanged,” she said. Brother said – Either law should punish them or we will kill them Family members said the incident was linked to an old land dispute. Younger brother Deepak said that cousin Hukum wanted to sell his land and take a passage through their field, which their father had refused. He alleged that Hukum had then threatened revenge. He said that on the day of the incident, he had gone to the market and later learned that Vishal and Hukum had blocked the road with stones and attacked his brother. Deepak alleged that when Rambabu slowed down, he was shot and then attacked with stones. He also claimed that Vishal was carrying a pistol and both accused had come on a motorcycle. Rambabu did business, people were jealous of this Deepak said his brother was doing business and progressing at a young age, which led to jealousy among relatives. He added that his sister-in-law is pregnant and fainted after hearing the news, following which she was admitted to hospital. He demanded justice, stating that the accused should be punished severely. Eyewitness said- Vishal and Hukum were seen throwing stones Eyewitness Sandeep Gurjar said he was returning home after delivering milk and was ahead of Rambabu. He said that after stopping briefly, Rambabu moved ahead, and shortly after, he heard a gunshot. He claimed that in the light of the motorcycle, he saw Vishal and Hukum throwing stones at Rambabu and then ran to inform his family. Celebrations turn into mourning Rambabu’s father Bharat Singh is a farmer. He was the third among four sons and a daughter. Married in 2023, he leaves behind a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, while his wife is three months pregnant. At the spot, blood-stained stones were found. Villagers appeared fearful and avoided speaking openly, though anger was evident. Wedding cards lying in a corner of the house reflected shattered celebrations, as a home preparing for festivities has now been plunged into grief.
