A hotel employee died of electrocution at ‘The Khajuraho Heritage Resort’, located near Khajuraho railway station. The incident took place around 6 pm on Tuesday while he was trying to chase monkeys from the terrace. A video of the incident surfaced on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Rinku Raikwar, a resident of Khajuraho. He had joined the hotel just five days ago in an attempt to improve his financial condition. He picks up a nearly 15-foot-long iron pipe kept near the wall and strikes it twice on the ground. He then holds the pipe upright and starts moving backwards. Fell engulfed in flames with a loud explosion During this, the pipe comes in contact with a high-tension power line. A loud explosion is heard, and Rinku is engulfed in flames before collapsing to the ground. Hearing the blast, a woman employee comes out, screams, and runs back inside. The video shows that the body was severely burnt from chest to abdomen, with a large burn cavity visible. Police investigation underway After receiving information, Bamitha police reached the spot and took the body into custody before sending it for post-mortem. The body was handed over to the family after the autopsy on Wednesday morning. Police are now investigating whether the high-tension line passing close to the terrace violated safety norms or if there was negligence on part of the hotel management.
