The Bhopal Crime Branch carried out a major operation on Sunday night and exposed a hashish smuggling network. Police arrested one accused from the MP Nagar Zone-1 area and recovered 126 grams of hashish from him. The arrested accused, Mansoor Khan, a resident of Kotwali area, revealed during interrogation that he used to procure hashish from a woman trafficker living in Shahjahanabad. Following this input, the Crime Branch raided a house in Shahjahanabad. Goods worth Rs 7 lakh seized from washing machine During the search, police recovered around 1.5 kg of hashish hidden inside the dryer of a washing machine in the house. After the seizure, police arrested the woman, Naushin Khan, along with her husband Javed alias Chikna. Additional DCP Crime Branch Shailendra Singh Chauhan stated that the total value of the seized hashish is estimated at around ₹7 lakh. Investigation of peddlers and supply chain continues Police are now investigating the source of the drugs and trying to identify others involved in the supply network. Interrogation of all three accused is currently underway.
