rubina-khan-seen-singing-vande-mataram-twice:indore-councillor’s-videos-surface-online;-party-yet-to-respond

A new twist has emerged in the political controversy over the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ in the Indore Municipal Corporation. Two videos have surfaced showing Councillor Rubina Khan singing the very song she had refused to sing citing Islamic reasons. One video is from the 2023-24 budget session, the other from 2026-27. In both, Rubina can be seen singing Vande Mataram and raising slogans. After the videos surfaced, questions were raised about her claim in which she had stated it was against Islam. After the videos in possession of Dainik Bhaskar came to light, Councillor Rubina Khan was questioned. Her clarification was shocking. Rubina said that when we grew up, understood Islam, and started offering namaz, we were told that we should worship only Allah. First Video: 2023-24 Budget Session Second Video: Budget Session 2026-27 Rubina said – Never disrespected Vande Mataram Rubina said that we have never disrespected Vande Mataram, we always respect it. I have been a councillor for 15 years. At least 50 meetings have taken place. I have never sung Vande Mataram, but I stand during the singing. Meanwhile, Rubina, regarding the statement in which she had said that the Congress party can go to hell, said that I am admitting my mistake. I should not have said such a thing about the party. This is my mistake. Patwari said- I also did not like this statement Whether to sing the national anthem or not, to stand, to remain silent – these are everyone’s constitutional rights. Saying that I will not sing, I believe that no one likes this. I also did not like this. How have you all decided that I don’t want to take action, I will take action. CM said – Councillor said with great shamelessness that I will not sing CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said in the matter that it is unfortunate to say that a Congress councillor refused to sing Vande Mataram inside the Municipal Corporation Council. With great shamelessness she said that I will not sing. Corporator Bhadauria made allegations against Fauzia and Rubina Congress corporator Raju Bhadauria, a supporter of Chintu Chaukse, has made several allegations against his own party corporators Fauzia Sheikh Aleem and Rubina Khan. A deal has been made between Fauzia Sheikh Aleem, Rubina Khan and Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav to spread this propaganda. Corporator Raju Bhadauria said that the Mayor and Sheikh Aleem both together did politics. Sheikh Aleem’s wife Fauzia Sheikh Aleem has been the Leader of Opposition, and many times she has stood and sung Vande Mataram together. In the corporation, if Fauzia never sang Vande Mataram with respect, she at least stood with respect. Even now when she used to come to the council, Vande Mataram would be sung and she would stand. Then what happened this time that you deliberately arrived an hour late inside the council, whereas her first question was during the debate.
