In Satna, a case of blackening and vandalising the statue of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar has come to light. When villagers learnt about the incident on Friday morning, they became angry and started a protest. On receiving information, police and administrative teams reached the spot and assured action, after which the villagers calmed down. The incident took place in Gobaraon Kalan under Uchehra police station area. It is being said that the statue was in proper condition on Thursday, and the act was carried out during the night. Due to a road blockade, the Uchehra–Nagod route remained disrupted for around one and a half hours. Police said statements of villagers will be recorded and the matter will be investigated. The administration will reinstall the statue at its own expense. They demanded immediate arrest of the accused and installation of a new statue in place of the damaged one. Administration ordered new Ambedkar statue from Chitrakoot The administration has arranged a new Ambedkar statue from Chitrakoot. Villagers have also started preparations to install the new statue with proper rituals. SDM Somesh Dwivedi said the situation is completely peaceful and the statue will be installed with due procedures once it arrives.
