n Jabalpur, a man working as a clerk in the Madhya Pradesh High Court was attacked late on Thursday night. The attackers first threw chilli powder into his eyes, causing him to fall from his bike, and then shot at him with a country-made pistol. Despite being seriously injured and bleeding, the clerk reached Nunsar police outpost on his own, after which he was admitted to hospital. The incident took place around 11:15 pm near Benikheda in Patan police station area. Thakur Das Patel (52), a resident of Agashod, was returning home on his bike when a woman stopped him on the way with her face covered and suddenly threw chilli powder into his eyes. As soon as it hit his eyes, he lost control and fell on the road along with his bike. 6 people who were lying in wait surrounded him As soon as he fell, six other people who were already lying in wait surrounded him and began assaulting him. He somehow tried to escape, but the accused fired at him with a country-made pistol. The bullet got lodged near his abdomen and pellets struck his neck. Despite serious injuries, he managed to reach Nunsar police outpost and narrated the incident. Paid 22 lakh rupees, but registry was not done Admitted in hospital, Thakur Das told police that the attack was the result of a dispute over a land deal. He said he had paid ₹22 lakh to purchase a plot in the ‘Sukha’ area, but the accused were not executing the registry. The injured has accused Deepak Kakshi, Gopal Kakshi, Vandana Singh, Brijlal Patel, Arjun and Siddharth Dubey of carrying out the attack. According to Nunsar police outpost in-charge Vipin Tiwari, a case has been registered under Section 307 (attempt to murder) against the accused based on the victim’s statement. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused and questioning people in the surrounding area.
