Gajararaja Medical College, affiliated with Jiwaji University, has been accused of issuing MBBS degrees in violation of established rules. Prashant Chaturvedi, in charge of the Undergraduate (UG) student branch, and his assistant Pankaj Kushwah have been accused of granting degrees to students dismissed in the Vyapam scam without reinstatement, attendance, or examinations. An audio recording of Chaturvedi has also surfaced, in which he is heard explaining to a student dismissed by an inquiry committee. The conversation includes allegations that degrees were issued in exchange for ₹16 lakh. Complaint filed from Governor to college authorities Former student Sandeep Lahariya has submitted a written complaint regarding the matter, addressing authorities from the Governor to the Dean of the medical college. The complaint also alleges collusion involving officials from Jiwaji University and employees of its confidential branch. Over 30 students dismissed in Vyapam case According to Lahariya, FIRs were registered against approximately 150 students in connection with the Vyapam case. Of these, more than 30 MBBS students, including Lahariya himself, were dismissed. He claims that none of the dismissed students have been reinstated, nor has any committee granted them relief. Despite this, several such students were allegedly issued MBBS degrees, which he describes as a clear case of fraud and corruption. UG branch officials named in allegations In his complaint, Lahariya has directly accused UG branch in-charge Prashant Chaturvedi and assistant Pankaj Kushwah of playing a key role in issuing degrees to ineligible students. He alleges that these students neither met academic requirements nor received official reinstatement. The complaint further claims that the degrees were issued with the connivance of the medical college administration and officials of Jiwaji University. Audio clip raises bribery allegations The complainant claims that an audio recording of Chaturvedi has surfaced, in which he is heard discussing the case of a dismissed student. During the conversation, allegations emerge that MBBS degrees were issued for ₹16 lakh each. Lahariya asserts that he possesses multiple audio and video recordings that could expose the entire alleged scam. He has named several individuals in his complaint, including the Dean of the medical college, along with officials and employees of Jiwaji University’s confidential branch.
