A team that went to remove encroachment from government land in Ujjain was pelted with stones on Wednesday evening in Chandesari village on Dewas Road. Encroachers created a ruckus, misbehaved and jostled with officials, and threw stones at a JCB and the administrative team. A video of the incident has gone viral. Police later took strict action against three people. Around 2 bighas of government land (Survey No. 568) had allegedly been encroached upon by Peera, Mohanlal, and Bharti. Despite repeated warnings from the Patwari and Tehsildar, the land was not vacated, and also blocked access to nearby farmers’ fields.
