Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act in Madhya Pradesh, 1.06 lakh children were allotted seats in private schools through an online lottery held on Thursday. The process was conducted by the State Education Centre and was also live-streamed. Applications were received for 1,22,551 seats across nearly 22,000 private schools in the state, with a total of 1,78,714 submissions. After verification, eligible children were allotted schools through the lottery system. Around 51,000 children secured admission in their first-choice schools. The remaining students were allotted schools based on the available options. The entire process was completed through a single-click system. Parents can now visit the RTE portal to check school details and download the allotment letter. Information was also shared with parents via SMS on their registered mobile numbers, ensuring timely updates. The admission process will take place between 3 April and 15 April. Parents must visit the allotted schools within this period and complete the formalities by submitting the required documents. At the school level, student attendance during admission will be recorded through a mobile app. The process will be completed using photo capture and OTP verification. If any private school refuses admission, parents can lodge a complaint with the District Project Coordinator or the BRC office. Immediate action has been directed in such cases. Children who were not allotted seats in the first phase will get another opportunity after 15 April. They can refill their choices, and a second round of lottery will be conducted for vacant seats.
