On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, a grand adornment of Lord Mahakal in the form of Lord Hanuman was performed at Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Thursday. As the temple doors opened at 4 AM, devotees witnessed a divine spectacle during the Bhasma Aarti, with a large number of devotees gathering for darshan and blessings. Rituals begin with sacred Abhishek After the opening of the sanctum, all the deities installed inside were worshipped. Lord Mahakal was then bathed with water and anointed with Panchamrit—a sacred mixture of milk, curd, ghee, sugar, and fruit juices. The rituals began with the offering of holy water accompanied by chants of “Hari Om.” Lord Mahakal adorned in Hanuman form Following the camphor aarti, Lord Mahakal was decorated with silver ornaments, sandalwood, bhang, and rose flowers. Adorned with a silver crown and sacred Tripund, the deity was beautifully dressed in a divine Hanuman form. The Jyotirlinga was then covered with cloth before the offering of sacred ash. Bhasma offered by Maha Nirvani Akhara During the Bhasma Aarti, sacred ash was offered to Lord Mahakal by the Maha Nirvani Akhara. According to belief, after the offering of Bhasma, Lord Mahakal manifests from a Nirakar to a Sakar form, granting divine darshan to devotees. Devotees witness divine experience The unique Hanuman form of Lord Mahakal on this auspicious occasion created a deeply spiritual atmosphere, leaving devotees mesmerized during the early morning rituals.
