The family of the woman crushed by a car driven by a father-son duo at Sagar Samriddhi Apartments in Lasudia, Indore, is left devastated. Her young children were kept unaware of her death for two days. Husband reveals how children were shielded Saurabh Pandey, husband of the deceased, shared that when their elder son called to ask for food, he told him, “Mom is unwell, she will come in two days.” The boy innocently replied, “I’ll eat only when Mom comes.” It was only when Shampa’s body arrived at their home two days later that the children were informed of the truth. Both broke down on hearing the news, and the younger son is still struggling to comprehend that his mother is gone forever. Shampa planned a ‘good deed’ on her mother’s birthday Saurabh revealed that the tragic incident occurred on the very day they had booked a new flat at DB Pride. Coincidentally, it was also Shampa’s mother’s birthday, and the family saw purchasing the flat as a positive step. However, the accident completely changed their lives. From housewarming to final journey The family had performed a religious puja in the flat in November. That very home, meant to celebrate new beginnings, became the starting point for Shampa’s last journey. Saurabh said, “It felt like a bomb had exploded in our family… everything ended in a single moment.” Adding to the tragedy, Shampa’s mother had passed away from a brain hemorrhage just three months earlier. The family had barely recovered from that shock when this accident struck. Controversy over apartment led to shift decision According to Saurabh, after moving into Sagar Samriddhi Apartments, they were added to the society’s WhatsApp group. That’s when they learned of disputes in the building over suspicious activities related to Airbnb. Around the Rangpanchami festival, the couple decided to either sell or rent out the flat. Initially, they stayed, hoping the situation would normalize. However, a week before the incident, after a dispute involving the father, Kuldeep, and son, Mohanish, Saurabh decided to immediately look for another flat and even posted an online ad. About a year later, Shampa joined Infosys, allowing both to grow their careers together. Initially, Shampa was posted in Mumbai and Saurabh in Bengaluru, but later they worked in the same city. In 2017, when Infosys operations started in Indore, they tried to shift, but plans were delayed due to COVID-19. Finally, in 2023, the family moved to Indore and settled in Scheme No-114 with their two children. Husband demands strict action against perpetrators Saurabh condemned those responsible, saying, “One vile person has destroyed our lives. People like them deserve the death penalty… they have no right to live in society.”
