Chennai Super Kings (CSK)’s Dewald Brevis has been ruled out of the initial 2-3 matches in IPL 2026. According to media reports, Brevis is suffering from a side strain. A day earlier, MS Dhoni was also ruled out of the team for two weeks. Sarfaraz might play in place of Brevis Matthew Short or Sarfaraz Khan might get a chance in place of Brevis. Chennai Super Kings will play their first match against Rajasthan Royals on March 30. After this, the team will face the Punjab Kings and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the tournament. Nathan Ellis out of the team CSK pacer Nathan Ellis has also been ruled out for the entire season due to a hamstring injury. As a replacement, Chennai management has inducted Spencer Johnson into the team in his place. Dhoni set to miss 3 CSK matches If Dhoni remains out for the full 2 weeks, i.e., 14 days, he will miss at least 3 matches. The former captain is currently undergoing rehab due to a muscle strain.
