A dance programme featuring allegedly vulgar performances was organized in the Brahmani Mata Temple complex in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh, sparking controversy among locals. The organizers of the Kalisingh Festival fair had invited dancers from outside for the event, held in Samanera village under Tarana Janpad Panchayat. According to information, a religious discourse had been taking place from March 19 to March 28 on a stage set up behind the temple complex. To control the situation, the police force present at the spot first tried to reason with people, but when the crowd could not be controlled, they had to resort to mild lathi charge. After the incident, tension remained in the area for some time, though conditions later returned to normal. Police used mild force In this matter, Makadown police station in-charge PS Rajput said that during the fair, some people were trying to spread unrest. Seeing the situation deteriorating, Sub-Inspector Mansharam Chaudhary and his team present at the spot used mild force, after which the matter was pacified. He also said that no formal action has been taken against anyone in this case.
