Sarpanch’s brother-in-law shot dead:Accused family earlier killed victim’s 2 brothers; 8 already in jail

The brother-in-law of the sarpanch was shot dead in Kuchwada village of Raisen. The accused is also a former sarpanch. His family had killed two brothers of the deceased two years ago. 8 people are in jail in the case. Meanwhile, Udaypura police station has arrested the accused. The incident took place around 11 pm on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Ravindra Raghuvanshi. According to police, work was going on in Ravindra’s field when he got into an argument with the accused Santosh’s tractor driver over something. The driver then called Santosh. After an altercation, Santosh shot Ravindra in the chest. After this, Ravindra was immediately taken to Civil Hospital Bareli, where doctors declared him dead. Upon receiving information about the incident, TI Jaywant Singh Kakodia reached the village with police force. Police force has been deployed in view of the tension. Incident due to old election rivalry This incident is the result of an old election rivalry. The accused Santosh Raghuvanshi’s family has long been enemies with the Raghuvanshi family. Currently, the deceased Ravindra’s younger brother Pramod’s wife Rachana Raghuvanshi is the village sarpanch, which had deepened the rivalry. Three brothers murdered within three years This is the third major blow for this family. Earlier on June 13, 2023, due to election rivalry, Santosh’s family had shot and killed Ravindra’s younger brother Pramod Raghuvanshi and cousin Vivek Raghuvanshi. Eight members of Santosh’s family are in jail in that double murder case. Attack had happened a few days ago too Family members have raised serious questions about the police administration’s working style. They said that a few months ago, there was also a deadly attack on Ravindra at the Thala petrol pump. At that time, the attacker had pointed a gun at him. Ravindra had bravely grabbed the gun and saved his life. The FIR of this attack was registered at Udaypura police station, but the family alleges that despite such a sensitive situation, the police did not make any security arrangements for Ravindra.
