Action has been taken against an official of the Madhya Pradesh Seed and Farm Development Corporation after a media investigation exposed alleged fraud in his appointment. Assistant Manager Lal Singh has been dismissed from service, and orders have been issued for the recovery of ₹1.5 crore paid to him as salary over the years. The department’s Managing Director issued the order on March 24, recommending termination, salary recovery, and registration of an FIR against him. Action follows investigation into 22-year-old appointment The action comes after a report revealed that Lal Singh’s appointment had been under suspicion for the past 22 years. He was appointed as an Assistant Manager in 2002 under a special recruitment drive. The investigation uncovered, with supporting documents, that the caste certificate and other documents submitted by him were allegedly forged. Salary of ₹1.5 crore drawn over 23 years During his 23-year tenure, Lal Singh reportedly received around ₹1.5 crore in salary. Following the revelations, the department issued multiple notices asking him to present original documents. However, he failed to provide authentic copies, strengthening the case against him. Fraud revealed through RTI probe The alleged fraud came to light through an RTI application filed by complainant Karmveer Chauhan. According to the information obtained, the caste certificate (Case No. 2296, dated August 19, 2003) submitted by Lal Singh was actually issued in the name of Chandrakishore Yadav, son of Chaturbhuj Singh, a resident of Gopalpura in Gwalior. This indicates that Lal Singh used a certificate that belonged to another person, pointing to clear document fraud. FIR and Further action underway Authorities have now directed that an FIR be registered against Lal Singh. Further legal proceedings are expected as the department moves to recover the salary and take strict action in the case.
