Private company Nayara Energy has increased petrol and diesel prices in Rajasthan, raising petrol by ₹5 per litre and diesel by ₹3 per litre. The revised rates came into effect across the state from Thursday morning. Following the hike, motorists refuelling at Nayara outlets are now paying more than before. The company operates around 900 fuel stations in Rajasthan and over 6,700 across the country, meaning the price rise is set to impact a large number of consumers. The increase is likely to put additional pressure on the transport sector, including taxi and auto drivers, as well as daily commuters. The hike is believed to be driven by fluctuations in international crude oil prices and rising operating costs. However, the company has not officially disclosed detailed reasons behind the revision. Dealers said – Company’s decision Rajasthan Nayara Petrol Pump dealer Mahesh Rana said that they have decided to increase the price of petrol and diesel from today. “We are private petrol dealers, the company has made this decision at their level,” he said. “We will get petrol and diesel at higher prices from the center itself. In such a situation, we have also decided to price according to the company. Being a private company, we do not receive any kind of subsidy from the government,” he added.
