India will have a jam-packed schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 home season, wherein they will play West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Australia across formats. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the entire schedule on Thursday, wherein 9 ODIs have been included at home before next year’s ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The home season begins with four visiting teams – West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Australia playing the Men in Blue across formats. In total, 22 matches will be played in 17 cities. India to host West Indies, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and Australia The road to the 2027 ODI World Cup begins with West Indies’ tour of India, from 27 September 2026. India will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is against the Caribbean team. The T20I series begins in Lucknow, and the caravan then moves on to Ranchi, Indore, and Hyderabad. The last T20I will be played in Bengaluru as international cricket returns to the Chinnaswamy Stadium for the first time since the Bengaluru stampede. Then the Indian team will face Sri Lanka at home for a 3-match ODI series and as many T20I fixtures in the month of December. The series gets underway in Delhi, followed by ODIs in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. The T20I leg will be played in Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune. The three fixtures are scheduled to be played in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai, respectively. India aim to regain Border-Gavaskar Trophy The home stretch concludes with Australia visiting the subcontinent for a five-match Test series starting from 21 January to 27 February 2027. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be up for grabs once again, as India lost the previous edition 1-3 on Australian soil. The coveted series begins on 21 January in Nagpur, followed by the second Test in Chennai. On 11 February, the third Test gets underway in Guwahati, followed by the penultimate fixture of the series in Ranchi. Ahmedabad will host the series finale from 27 February to 3 March next year. India to play 15 ODIs before the end of 2026 India will play a 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan and England, followed by as many ODIs against West Indies, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, taking the total of 15 ODI fixtures before the end of the year 2026.
