A female sub-engineer died under suspicious circumstances in the City Kotwali police station area of Harda district. She lived in a rented house in Siddhi Vinayak Colony. On Monday morning, a team of three doctors conducted the postmortem at the district hospital. After this, the body was handed over to the family. Police have started an investigation. No suicide note was found from the spot. According to information, Jyoti Mahobia, who worked in the PHE department, had attempted suicide by consuming poisonous medicine on August 6, 2025. At that time, she was admitted first to the district hospital and then to a private hospital in an unconscious state. She was divorced, posted in Harda 1 year ago Jyoti Mahobia was originally from Padar in Betul district and was divorced. She was appointed to the PHE department in 2014. She was attached to the Harda office for 8 years. Just a year ago, she received her permanent posting in Harda. Had returned to Harda from her village on Saturday evening SDOP Shalini Paraste said that Jyoti had returned to Harda from her village on Saturday evening. Her brother had dropped her off and returned. On Sunday evening, Jyoti’s family members tried to contact her repeatedly on her mobile, but she did not receive the calls. After this, the family members contacted people living in the neighborhood. Jyoti was found unconscious on the bed in the room When the neighbors went to check, the door was closed. They called the landlord and informed the police. When the police opened the door in the presence of family members, Jyoti was found lying unconscious on the bed. She was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Police said that the case appears to be suicide SDOP Shalini Paraste said that based on the evidence found in the house, this appears to be a case of suicide. Currently, the City Kotwali police station and forensic team from Narmadapuram are collecting evidence from the house. Police are searching the room to find out if they left any suicide note or other documents.
