During a net session, 14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi impressed everyone by smashing big sixes against Ravindra Jadeja, showing great confidence against the experienced all-rounder. Wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, who had been the face of the team for over a decade and played 11 seasons with them, was traded to the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He is now set to appear in the iconic yellow jersey in the upcoming edition. In exchange, Rajasthan secured the services of England all-rounder Sam Curran and experienced Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from CSK. Interestingly, Jadeja has a past connection with the franchise, having been part of their title-winning squad in the inaugural 2008 season under the leadership of the late Shane Warne. He also represented the team in 2009 before moving on to other franchises in subsequent years. The opening clash promises to be an exciting start as the Royals face a strong CSK side. Following their opener, Rajasthan will travel to Ahmedabad to take on Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 4. They will then face the five-time champions Mumbai Indians on April 7, before going up against the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their fourth match on April 10.
