Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma were felicitated in their respective states, Kerala and Telangana, after their heroics in the T20 World Cup 2026. Both Samson and Tilak played pivotal roles in India’s T20 World Cup trophy win, which came after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at Ahmedabad. With the triumph, India became the first team to win three T20 World Cup titles. Also, it was the first instance of a team winning back-to-back T20 World Cups and also the first team to win the honour at home.
