Yash Dayal marries Shweta Pundir amid sexual assault allegations According to a report by Hindustan Times, the cricketer married the social media influencer in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, in a ceremony that was attended by their families and friends. No one from the cricket fraternity was present at Dayal’s marriage. Not one but Dayal has been accused of sexual assault in two separate cases. A woman from Ghaziabad accused Dayal of exploiting her emotionally and physically for five years on the pretext of marriage. He was booked for rape soon after the complaint was filed by the lady. Later on, he was accused of allegedly raping a minor in Jaipur. The accused, an aspiring cricketer, alleged that Dayal promised to help her in her career and raped her when she was 17 years old. The incident is said to have happened in 2023. A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at Jaipur’s Sanganer Sadar police station. Earlier in January, Dayal was granted interim protection by the Rajasthan High Court in the sexual assault case involving the minor. Dayal’s plea for an anticipatory bail was rejected by a POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) after which the cricketer filed a separate plea in the High Court. Dayal’s lawyer, Chandrashekhar Sharma, said that the FIR in this case was filed after a period of two years and that the cricketer met the complainant only in public places in the presence of other team members.
