Two minor boys died on the spot after a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle near Chitahara turn on the Satna–Chitrakoot State Highway at around 9:30 pm on Tuesday. The impact was so severe that their bodies were found nearly 50 metres away from the road. The deceased were identified as 17-year-olds Pramod Singh, son of Lekhan Singh, and Mohit Singh, son of Narendra Singh, residents of Old Kher Chitahara. Both were returning home on a motorcycle (MP 19 ZH 2201) after attending a friend’s birthday party in nearby Kathauta village. Bodies were found on opposite sides of the road According to Majhgawan police station in-charge Aditya Narayan Dhurve, a speeding car (MP 19 ZB 4144) coming from the Chitrakoot side rammed into the bike at Chitahara turn. The collision was so powerful that the bodies were found lying on opposite sides of the road, while the motorcycle was thrown about 50 metres away. Car fell into ditch after collision, driver fled After hitting the bike, the car went out of control and plunged into a roadside ditch. The driver abandoned the vehicle at the spot and fled. Police from Majhgawan station reached the scene after being informed. The bodies were sent to the Community Health Centre, where post-mortem will be conducted on Wednesday. Police are searching for the absconding driver.
