Four important changes are going to be implemented from March 1, 2026. This will directly affect your life. From Sunday, commercial gas cylinder has become more expensive by up to Rs 31. Also, air travel may become expensive due to increase in ATF prices. Additionally, messaging apps like WhatsApp will not work on phones without an active SIM. The Railway’s Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) app will stop working. 1. Commercial cylinder becomes expensive by Rs 31 From today, the 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has become more expensive by up to Rs 31. The highest increase is in Kolkata, where you will have to pay Rs 1,875.50 for a cylinder. In Delhi, the price has increased by Rs 28 to Rs 1,768.50. Earlier, it was available at Rs 1,740.50. After this government rule, apps like WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal will only work when the same SIM card used to create the account is active in the phone. Additionally, if you use apps like WhatsApp on computer, the WhatsApp login will also log out after 6 hours. Previously, it would keep running for weeks after logging in once. Why this decision was taken: Often cybercriminals would remove SIM cards and commit fraud using messaging apps only through WiFi. Now when the SIM is removed, the app will automatically log out. This will help prevent fraud. 3. Railway’s UTS app discontinued, now booking will be through ‘RailOne’ The railway’s old Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) app will be completely discontinued from today. Now passengers will have to use the new ‘RailOne’ app to book general, platform and local train tickets. The RailOne app was launched in July 2025. After this app’s discontinuation, many passengers have questions about what will happen to the money deposited in their UTS app wallet (R-Wallet). Railways has stated that your wallet balance is secure and will be transferred to the new RailOne app. However, there is one important condition… These 3 major services are available in RailOne app: RailOne is an ‘all-in-one’ application designed to enhance passengers’ experience. It is available on both Android and iOS platforms. 4. Air Travel May Get Expensive, ATF Prices Increased by Rs 5,500 Oil marketing companies have increased Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices by up to Rs 5,500. This is expected to lead to an increase in airfare in the coming days. The highest price increase was in Chennai, where ATF prices rose from Rs 94,781.99 per kiloliter to Rs 1,00,280 per kiloliter.
