After recent spells of storms, rain and hail, Madhya Pradesh is now witnessing April-like heat. On Thursday, daytime temperatures in several cities crossed 35°C, while night temperatures in many places remained above 17°C. However, some districts are still experiencing a lingering chill. The Meteorological Department has indicated that a Western Disturbance is likely to become active from 2 March, which could influence weather conditions in the state. Western Disturbance may bring rain to northern districts Officials said the impact of the upcoming Western Disturbance may be felt in parts of Madhya Pradesh, particularly in northern districts where light rain is possible. At present, three cyclonic circulations are active over western parts of the country, though they are not affecting Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, jet stream winds are blowing at a speed of around 176 kmph at an altitude of 12.6 km above sea level over Northeast India, influencing northern weather patterns. Due to this, temperatures in some northern areas remain below 30°C. However, in most districts across the Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain and Jabalpur divisions, daytime temperatures are ranging between 30°C and 34°C. On Thursday, Khandwa and Khargone recorded the highest temperature at 35.2°C. Bhopal recorded 32°C, Indore 33.1°C, Gwalior 32.6°C, Ujjain 33°C and Jabalpur 31.9°C. More than 30 districts across the state reported temperatures above 30°C. Weather shifted four times in February This February has seen four significant weather changes in the state. During the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, Karondi in Katni recorded a minimum of 8.8°C, while Kalyanpur in Shahdol recorded 9.4°C. Pachmarhi registered 9.8°C. In major cities, Bhopal recorded 15°C, Indore 14.6°C, Gwalior 14.5°C, Ujjain 14.5°C and Jabalpur 14.6°C. Dhar recorded the highest minimum temperature at 17.7°C. Ratlam, Narsinghpur, Sagar, Tikamgarh and Narmadapuram also recorded night temperatures above 16°C.
Weather deteriorated in 20 districts
