Ishan Kishan has risen to the fifth spot in the latest T20I rankings as per the latest update issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on 25 February. The left-hander had earlier broken into the top 10 of the ICC T20I rankings for batters following a series of impressive performances on his national comeback. Abhishek Sharma continues to be at the top of the rankings for batters, despite not having had a good time with the bat, managing just 15 runs in four matches. England’s Phil Salt continues to be in second place. Ishan Kishan gains three spots, Tilak Varma slips Kishan has had a good run in the T20 World Cup so far. The wicketkeeper-batter has scored 176 runs in five matches so far and is India’s second-highest run-scorer. The left-hander played an impactful 77-run knock off 40 deliveries, smashing 10 fours and three sixes. Tilak Varma, on the other hand, has had an underwhelming performance in the tournament, scoring 107 runs in five outings. That has seen him lose three spots to be ranked in the seventh spot in the latest update. A total of four Indians are in the top 10 in the ICC T20I rankings for batters. Bumrah has had a good T20 World Cup so far and despite India conceding 187 in their loss to South Africa, the premier pacer stood out as the best bowler for the Men in Blue, registering figures of 3/15 in four overs. Varun Chakaravarthy, meanwhile, continues to lead the T20I rankings for bowlers. The mystery spinner is India’s highest wicket-taker in the tournament, with 10 wickets in five matches. Despite proving to be expensive against South Africa, where he gave away 47 runs in four overs while taking a wicket, Varun has maintained an impressive economy rate of 6.81 so far in the five matches he has played. Chakaravarthy and Bumrah are the only two Indians in the top 10 in ICC T20I bowlers’ rankings. Sikandar Raza new No 1 ranked T20I all-rounder In another development, Sikandar Raza has risen to the top spot in ICC rankings for T20I all-rounders. The Zimbabwe captain has scored 102 runs in four matches and has led his side through to the Super 8 round, unbeaten. Raza displaced Pakistan’s Saim Ayub, who has now dropped to the second spot. Hardik Pandya is the highest-ranked Indian T20I all-rounder in the latest rankings, occupying the third spot. Apart from Pandya, Dube is also within the top 10, in the seventh place.
