BJP MLA Kalu Singh Thakur from Dharampuri in Dhar district, has once again come under controversy. A woman and her daughter from Sirsodiya village have lodged a complaint at Dhamnod police station, alleging verbal abuse, attempted assault and stone-pelting. A video of the incident has also surfaced on social media. According to the complainant, on the morning of 22 February, she was grazing goats near the four-lane road by the Karam River along with her grandson. She alleged that the MLA arrived at the spot and began arguing, accusing her of blocking the path. The woman claims he used abusive language without provocation and threw stones at them. Daughter alleges attempted molestation The woman’s daughter stated that after hearing the commotion, she reached the spot to intervene and protect her mother and nephew. She has alleged that the MLA verbally abused her as well and attempted to molest her. The family further claimed that the MLA’s associates tried to snatch their mobile phone during the altercation. See pictures- Driver and shopkeeper intervened According to the victim, the MLA’s driver and a local shopkeeper present at the scene intervened, enabling the family to leave safely. The complainants have since sought police protection, stating that they fear for their lives. Video surfaces on social media A video related to the incident is circulating online. In the footage, the MLA is allegedly heard using inappropriate language. The woman can be heard saying, ‘How will you not let me pass?’, followed by abuses from the other side. Some individuals are also heard discussing snatching her mobile phone. MLA previously attacked It may be noted that on 19 January 2026, the same MLA was attacked in Sirsodiya village in connection with a land dispute. He was reportedly struck on the head with a stone and sustained injuries. Police response Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi has not issued any statement regarding the present allegations. Dhamnod Police Station In-charge Praveen Thackeray stated that the matter would be investigated on the basis of the complaint submitted. Attempts were made to contact Kalu Singh Thakur for his response, but no clear statement was received from his side.
