hc-to-hear-bhojshala-survey-report:asi-completes-scientific-investigation-using-advanced-techniques

The hearing on the historic Bhojshala in Dhar is scheduled for 23 February in the Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has submitted its scientific survey report, conducted over 98 days, to the court. The hearing will be held before a bench comprising Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla and Justice Alok Awasthi. Sealed portions of the report will be opened in court, after which the next steps in the legal proceedings will be determined. Background: Supreme Court directives and case transfers On January 22, the Supreme Court instructed the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s Indore Bench to advance the hearing within three weeks. Earlier, the legal process following the survey had been temporarily stayed. With the stay lifted, the court can now proceed with the report. Previously, the Bhojshala complex dispute in Dhar had been transferred from the Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court to the Principal Bench in Jabalpur. This case, revolving around rights to worship versus permission for Namaz, was heard by a division bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf on February 18, who then transferred it back to the Indore Bench. High-tech techniques used in the survey The ASI employed several advanced technologies for the survey: The findings of this high-tech survey are expected to play a crucial role in resolving the ongoing legal and historical dispute surrounding the Bhojshala complex.
