The picture of Bhopal’s voter list has become clear after the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Following surveys and hearings on claims and objections, more than 3.80 lakh voters have been removed from the electoral rolls. The highest number of deletions has been reported from Govindpura Assembly constituency, represented by Minister Krishna Gaur, where 81,143 names have been struck off. This is followed by Narela, represented by Minister Vishwas Sarang, with over 70,000 deletions. The final electoral roll will be published on Saturday. A meeting of the Standing Committee will be held under the chairmanship of Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh. Process of revision The draft electoral roll was published on December 23. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were stationed at their respective booths until January 22 to receive Form 6 (new registrations), Form 7 (deletions), and Form 8 (corrections). Voters placed under the ‘No Mapping’ category were issued notices, and their records were verified within 50 days. The process was completed by February 14. The final voter list will now be officially released on Saturday. Sharp decline in total voter count Before the SIR exercise, as of October 27, 2025, Bhopal had 21,25,908 registered voters. Notably, around 125 voters in Bhopal are aged 100 years or above. Assembly-wise breakdown Decline in third gender voters The SIR process also led to a reduction in the number of registered third gender voters. The number has fallen from 166 to 72. In Bhopal Central alone, third gender voters decreased from 104 to 35.
