Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been making his presence felt, quite literally! The 14-year-old broke a water pipe in training with the Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2026. Sooryavanshi, earlier this month, played a record-breaking 175-run knock that came off 80 deliveries, which helped India win the U-19 World Cup, beating England. He was also named Player of the Tournament as India bagged a record-extending sixth title. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashes water pipe in training The aftermath of the youngster’s destructive batting was seen in a video shared by the Rajasthan Royals on social media. Sooryavanshi launched onto a short ball in a training session and played a pull shot with brute force. The ball was hit with such power that it struck a water pipe nearby and ended up breaking it. The video, which has gone viral on social media, showed water leaking from the pipe in what seemed to be a building under construction. NK Sinha, the principal of Podar International School, where Sooryavanshi was expected to appear for exams, said that there could have been other obligations because of which he did not appear for exams. However, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s father Sanjeev clarified that his son has prioritized cricket at the moment and will appear for the exams next year. “My son is practising in Nagpur with the Rajasthan Royals IPL team members. There was a lot of hype around his exams this year, so he has decided to skip them and will appear next year. Had he appeared for the exams, he would not have been able to concentrate,” Sanjeev said, as quoted by Mid-Day. He added, “Vaibhav was good in studies when he was regular at school. He used to get above 90 per cent in all subjects, but now his priority is cricket.” Post navigation Associate nations troubled India, Pakistan and England:Demand ‘more games’ against top ICC teams after T20 World Cup India women beat Australia in T20I series after 10 years:Mandhana, Rodrigues, bowlers lead Women in Blue to victory in series decider
