In Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district, a man killed his mother, father and brother, and also tried to kill his five-year-old nephew. After the murders, he locked the door and sat beside the bodies. Blood stains were found scattered on the floor and walls. The case is from the Kotwali police station area. According to information, the deceased were identified as father Raju alias Hansu Dhurve (55), mother Kamalti Dhurve (40), and brother Dileep Dhurve (40). All three were residents of Sanvga village. The five-year-old nephew, Prashant Parte, is said to be in serious condition. The door was closed, accused was sitting near the bodies According to neighbours, when the house door did not open till Thursday afternoon, they suspected something was wrong. They knocked repeatedly, but no one opened it. When villagers broke the door and entered, the accused Deepak Dhurve was found present at the scene. He was sitting silently beside the three bodies. A dead cat was also found at the spot, and it is suspected that it too had been killed. Neighbours immediately informed the Kotwali police, who reached the scene soon after receiving information. Accused is 12th class topper Neighbours told police that Deepak’s mental condition had not been stable for the past 4–5 years. He had recently returned after treatment from Nagpur. He is the eldest in the family, a Class 12 topper, and had also appeared for recruitment to the Central Reserve Police Force. Kotwali police said the accused has been taken into custody. An iron rod and sticks were recovered from the crime scene and seized. A forensic team is collecting evidence from the spot.
