The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in 22 districts of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and other districts are included in the warning. According to senior meteorologist Dr. Divya E. Surendran, two cyclonic circulations along with a western disturbance are expected to affect the state’s weather. On Thursday, light rainfall with thunderstorms may continue in Gwalior-Chambal divisions. After this, the weather systems are expected to weaken, with no further alerts issued. Districts likely to be affected The districts expected to experience rainfall include: Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Dhar, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Ratlam, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Agar-Malwa, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, and Chhatarpur. Meanwhile, Bhopal, Barwani, Khargone, Dewas, Sehore, Vidisha, Sagar, Damoh, Panna, and Satna may experience cloudy conditions. Impact of weather systems The meteorologist stated that Wednesday will see the most significant impact of these weather systems. Nighttime temperatures are expected to rise slightly due to the change in weather. February brings third weather change This marks the third significant weather shift in Madhya Pradesh this February. Earlier, hailstorms, rain, and gusty winds had caused crop damage. The government had conducted surveys of affected fields, and the upcoming system will again bring rain to several districts from February 18. Cold nights continue Despite the rainfall alert, a light cold spell will persist in the state. Night and early morning temperatures will remain low in most cities. Minimum temperatures in major cities are expected to remain above 10°C, while daytime temperatures may cross 30°C. Temperature overview across MP Daytime temperatures in over 20 districts have already crossed 30°C, reflecting seasonal variations.
