7 teams for the Super-8 stage of the T-20 World Cup have been finalised. The last team will be decided by the Pakistan-Namibia match on Wednesday. If Pakistan wins, the team will reach the Super-8 Group-2. If Namibia wins, America will reach Group 2. Team India will remain in Group 1. Where it will face South Africa and the West Indies. Australia was initially supposed to be in Group 1, but the team was knocked out by Zimbabwe in the group stage. Therefore, Zimbabwe will now be in Group 1. With Australia’s exit from Group B, it became clear that Team India will face Zimbabwe in the Super-8. Let’s take a look at the Group B points table… Second Round of T20 WC to kick off from 21st February Group stage matches will be played from 7th February, when the tournament began, until 20th February. The Super-8 stage will begin on 21st February. On the first day, New Zealand will face either Pakistan or America. Besides New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka have also qualified from Group 2. India’s first Super 8 match against South Africa In the Super-8 stage, two matches will be played on 22 February, 26 February, and 1 March. On other days from February 20 to 28, only one match will be played. Team India will play its first match against South Africa in Ahmedabad on 22 February. The team will then face Zimbabwe in Chennai on 26 February. India’s last Super-8 match will be against the West Indies in Kolkata on 1st March. There will be 12 matches in the Super-8 In the Super-8 stage, two groups of 4 teams each will be formed. Each team will play 3 matches against each other in its group. This means there will be 6 matches in one group. Thus, a total of 12 matches will be played across both groups. The top 2 teams from each group will enter the next round. The first semi-final will be on 4th March, while the second semi-final will be played at Wankhede Stadium on 5th March. The teams winning these will clash in the final on 8th March. If Pakistan enters the knockout round, all its matches will be in Colombo. 10 teams eliminated from group stage In the tournament, 20 teams were divided into 4 groups of 5 teams each. Team India qualified from Group A, while Namibia was eliminated after losing 3 matches. The last team will be decided between Pakistan, the USA, and the Netherlands. Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe qualified from Group B. England and West Indies reached the next round from Group C. Meanwhile, New Zealand and South Africa entered the Super-8 from Group D. Australia, Ireland, Oman, Scotland, Italy, Nepal, Afghanistan, UAE, and Canada were eliminated from the group stage itself. India won 3 consecutive matches Team India won 3 consecutive matches in the group stage. The team defeated America by 29 runs in the first match. Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored a fifty. India defeated Namibia by 93 runs in the second match, where Hardik Pandya scored a fifty and took 2 wickets. The team defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in the third match.
