Minor rape victim commits suicide by hanging:Grandmother found her hanging from scarf; case was registered 4 days ago

In Ratlam’s Bajna police station area, a minor rape victim committed suicide by hanging herself around 4:30 PM on Monday. She made a noose from her dupatta at home and hanged herself. She was just 12 years and 6 months old. Family members were away from home at the time of the incident. Police have registered a case and started investigation. Just 4 days ago, the victim had filed a rape case that occurred in the jungle. Police had arrested the accused and sent him to jail. Mother was washing clothes, father was at work It is being reported that at the time of the incident, grandmother was giving water to cattle outside the house. Mother had gone to the river to wash clothes and father was out for labor work. When grandmother came inside the house, she saw the girl hanging. After this, there was a commotion and police were informed. Police reached the spot and after completing the panchnama, sent the body to Bajna Community Health Center for post-mortem. The post-mortem will be conducted on Tuesday morning. Complaint was filed on February 13 Station in-charge Manish Dabar said that the victim had reached the police station with her family member on February 13 to file a complaint. In the complaint, she had alleged that Bhojpura resident Roopchand alias Roop Ninana (24) took her to the jungle and raped her. After the complaint, police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections and arrested him. Later, the accused was presented in court and sent to jail.
