The Suryakumar Yadav-led side returned to the country after outclassing Pakistan by 61 runs in a one-sided contest at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, a day ago. With the win over Pakistan, India secured a spot in the Super 8 stage of the tournament. On Sunday, at the R Premadasa Stadium, India, batting first, scored 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Ishan Kishan played a stormy innings of 77 runs off 40 balls, which included 10 fours and 3 sixes. Captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 32 runs. From Pakistan’s side, Saim Ayub took 3 wickets. Chasing a target of 176 runs, the Pakistan team was all out for 114 runs in 18 overs. Usman Khan scored the highest 44 runs. From India’s side, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, and Hardik Pandya secured the win by taking 2 wickets each. India tops Group A points table
With this win, India registered their third consecutive victory in the tournament and the team reached the top of the Group-A points table. India won by 61 runs. By run difference, this was India’s biggest win against Pakistan in T20 World Cup history.
