Former MLA’s nephew commits suicide by shooting himself:Fired 12-bore gun in Ashoknagar while family attended engagement

Former MLA Jajpal Singh’s nephew committed suicide by shooting himself in Ashok Nagar district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday late evening. No family member was present at home at the time of the incident. Everyone had gone to attend an engagement ceremony. The incident took place in Ingle Khedi village of Dehat police station area. The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Gurtej, son of Bijender Singh Sandhu. It is being reported that at the time of the incident, the young man’s father was in Dabra. An employee working in the house heard the sound of gunfire. Hearing the sound, he reached the room where Gurtej was found lying in a blood-soaked condition. Employee panicked seeing blood-soaked condition Upon seeing Gurtej covered in blood in the room, the employee became frightened. He immediately reached the engagement ceremony venue by tractor. He informed the family at the hotel about the incident. Upon receiving the information, family members reached home. Police were also immediately notified. Postmortem will be conducted in presence of family members The rural police station team that arrived at the scene took custody of the body and sent it to the district hospital for postmortem. Today, the postmortem will be conducted in the presence of family members. Meanwhile, the forensic team has collected evidence from the crime scene, which has been sent to the lab for investigation. Rural police say that it is not yet clear why the young man committed suicide. Family members and acquaintances are being questioned. The situation will become clear only after the investigation is complete.
