Kusal Mendis struck 61 runs off 45 deliveries while Pavan Rathnayake’s 28-ball 60 and captain Dasun Shanaka’s 20-ball 50 helped the tournament co-hosts get to 225/5. For Oman, Jiten Ramanadi took two wickets for 41 runs in his four overs. Jay Odedra and Sufyan Mehmood were the other wicket-takers for Oman. Maheesh Theekshana was the best bowler for Sri Lanka with two wickets for 11 runs. Dushmantha Chameera took two wickets as well while conceding 19 runs off his two overs. Kamindu Mendis (1/10), Dunith Wellalage (1/17) and Wanindu Hasaranga’s injury replacement Dushan Hemantha (1/45) were the other wicket-takers.
