Ahead of the Supreme Court hearing over his remarks on Colonel Sophia, Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah reached the BJP state office in Bhopal on Friday and held a closed-door meeting with state president Hemant Khandelwal and senior party leaders. When the media questioned him about the Supreme Court hearing and prosecution sanction after he stepped out, Shah avoided the cameras and left in his car without responding. After a long discussion, indications have been received that the government may seek an extension of time in the February 9 hearing, which is likely to postpone the hearing. Government sent report to Delhi The Madhya Pradesh government has sent a report related to its intentions to Delhi to be presented in the Supreme Court. In this regard, ACS Home Shivshekhar Shukla, Home Secretary Krishna Veni Desavatu, and Additional Secretary Manisha Sentia had gone to Delhi. According to ministry sources, a hearing on points related to prosecution is likely on February 9, while other aspects of the case may be heard on February 11. Three-member SIT is investigating A three-member SIT, comprising Pramod Verma, Kalyan Chakraborty, and Vahini Singh, is investigating the Vijay Shah case. The SIT had previously sought additional time for a detailed investigation. Vijay Shah gave statement in Mhow last year On May 11, Minister Vijay Shah was addressing an event organized in Raikunda village of Mhow, Indore. Regarding Operation Sindoor, he had said – ‘They (terrorists) stripped and killed our Hindus, and Modi ji sent their sister to their home to mess them up.’ Shah further said, Now Modi ji cannot take off his clothes. So, they sent a sister from his community, saying that since you have widowed our sisters, a sister from your community will come and strip you naked. The honor and respect of the country and revenge for the marital status of our sisters can be taken by sending sisters from your caste and community to Pakistan.
