An incident of violence between students has come to light at Aryabhatta Hostel of Jiwaji University. A student sustained serious injuries in the assault and had to be taken to hospital for treatment. The injured student has approached the police and demanded registration of an FIR against the accused students. The incident took place on February 2. According to information, BCom-LLB 10th semester student Sudhanshu Asthana was allegedly assaulted by pharmacy students Saurabh Gurjar, Nikhil Kushwaha, Gaurav Jat, Seeram Tiwari, and others. Sudhanshu said that during a dispute outside the hostel, the group attacked him together, beating him with kicks and punches, which left him seriously injured. Vice Chancellor sought information about students involved in fighting After receiving information, the Proctorial Board informed the Vice-Chancellor about the entire matter. Following this, the Vice-Chancellor sought complete details from the Institute of Pharmacy regarding the students named in the assault. Ragging cases have been raised before as well The victim alleged that such incidents have occurred in the hostel earlier too, but due to the absence of strict action, they continue to happen. In the past, eight senior students were barred from examinations following a ragging complaint, yet incidents have not stopped. University Statement University Public Relations Officer Dr. Vimlendra Singh Rathore said that A case of mutual dispute between students has come to notice. No written complaint has been received so far. Investigation will be conducted upon receiving the complaint.
