In Bhopal, police have arrested Rizwan Lala, the father of class 3 student Ibrahim, who died after being shot. Rizwan has been arrested under the Arms Act. During the investigation, police found that he had allegedly been providing shelter to absconding criminals at his residence. Illegal weapons were also recovered from the house. According to police officials, Rizwan Lala came under suspicion during the probe following Ibrahim’s death, prompting a detailed investigation into his activities. Twelve-year-old Ibrahim died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. During questioning, Rizwan told police that his brother-in-law, Wahid Noor, had stayed at their house around that time. He claimed that Wahid Noor had left behind an illegal pistol without their knowledge. Police said the bullet fired from this pistol caused Ibrahim’s death. During investigation, police seized country-made pistol and other weapons from Rizwan Lala’s house. Police say that the recovered weapons were not licensed, which clearly violates the Arms Act. While suicide and accident were suspected in Ibrahim’s death, after his father’s arrest, the scope of investigation has expanded further.
