In Mauganj, a video has emerged showing minor students residing in a government hostel consuming alcohol. The video, dated January 26, shows the students drinking at a roadside eatery. Afterwards, they returned to the hostel and played loud DJ music, dancing in the premises for hours. In the video, a conversation in Bagheli dialect occurs between a person and a student attending the alcohol party. The boy identifies himself as a class 11 student residing in Piprahi Tribal Senior Boys Hostel. He states that the wardens are often not present in the hostel, which is why they go out and “enjoy.” The eatery shown in the video is located near the hostel. Mauganj Collector Sanjay Kumar Jain took cognizance of the viral video. He issued a “show cause” notice to Hostel In-charge Superintendent Ramanuj Yadav. A reply was demanded within two days. Adim Jati Kalyan Vibhag, Mauganj District Coordinator Neelkanth Markam said – The matter was immediately taken into cognizance. Based on facts revealed during the investigation, legal action will be taken.
