BJP leader resigns after assault allegations in MP:Cong protests, victim family seeks justice as videos show attack on woman leader’s daughter in Nagod

In the Nagod area of Satna district, BJP Mandal President Pulkit Tandon assaulted and misbehaved with a female party office-bearer and her daughter. The incident took place on the night of January 27 at around 10 pm. Two videos of the incident have surfaced. In the first video, the accused is seen assaulting the BJP leader’s daughter. In the second video, he is seen assaulting the victim’s mother and brother. Following the incident, Pulkit Tandon submitted his resignation to the District President on Friday. On Thursday, former Congress assembly candidate Dr Rashmi Singh Patel reached the SP office along with the victim’s family and demanded justice. She gave the police a three-hour ultimatum to arrest the accused. After the deadline expired, Congress workers surrounded the Nagod police station in the evening and staged a sit-in protest, which continued for nearly two hours inside the police station premises. Victim BJP leader’s ordeal: ‘He harasses anyone he wants’ The victim’s mother, who is also a BJP office-bearer, spoke to PCC President Jitu Patwari over the phone in the presence of Congress leaders and narrated her ordeal. She said that the BJP Mandal President brutally dragged and beat her daughter. Other family members who came to rescue her were also assaulted. She questioned why the accused had not been arrested despite video evidence being available, while immediate action is taken in minor cases. She also alleged that people associated with the accused were constantly issuing threats. “This man is so dangerous that he harasses anyone he wants,” she said. After hearing the entire matter, PCC President Jitu Patwari assured her that he would personally speak to the SP regarding the case. Accused Mandal President submits resignation In a handwritten letter addressed to BJP District President Bhagwati Prasad Pandey, the Nagod Mandal President stated that a case has recently been registered against him based on a complaint from only one party related to a previous incident. In the letter, he wrote that the other party had kept his mobile phone and circulated videos related to his shop without his permission. He also said that his mobile phone and DVR were locked and later returned, due to which he is currently unable to present the correct facts. The Nagod Mandal President said that until these technical matters and the truth of the entire case are clarified, the image of a disciplined and nationalist party like the Bharatiya Janata Party should not be harmed by the allegations against him. For this reason, keeping in mind the dignity and honour of the party, he said he is voluntarily resigning from the post of Nagod BJP Mandal President. He also stated that once the truth comes out, he wants an opportunity to present his side before the organisation. How the incident unfolded According to the victim’s family, Pulkit Tandon called the young woman from the mobile phone of his employee, RK alias Rajkumar Namdev, and lured her to the warehouse of his trading shop on the pretext of meeting a bridal customer. The young woman informed her mother and then reached the warehouse. However, no customer was present there and the shop was closed. It is stated that Pulkit Tandon was consuming alcohol at that time. When the young woman tried to leave the place, the accused grabbed her hand and started misbehaving with her. When she resisted, he began assaulting her. When the woman did not return home for a long time, her mother and both brothers reached the warehouse. Seeing their sister being assaulted, one of the brothers started recording the incident on his mobile phone.

He snatched the brother’s mobile phone, threw it on the ground and smashed it. He then assaulted the girl’s mother and brothers. The victim and her family somehow managed to escape from the spot and reached the hospital. After receiving treatment, they filed a complaint at the police station on Wednesday afternoon. Police said that more sections may be added to the case after the medical report is received. Victim’s mother also a BJP office-bearer The mother of the young woman who was assaulted is also an office-bearer of the BJP’s Nagod Mandal. The woman seen being assaulted in the viral video is the same BJP leader. This was confirmed by BJP District General Secretary Ramakant Gautam. He said that after the video surfaced, the party issued a notice to Nagod Mandal President Pulkit Tandon and directed him to appear before District President Bhagwati Pandey within a week and submit his explanation. Family Seeks Congress Support After Delay in Arrest Despite the case being registered at the police station, the aggrieved family, angered by the non-arrest of the accused, sought help from Congress leaders. On Thursday, Dr Rashmi Singh Patel, former Congress candidate from the Nagod Assembly constituency, reached the SP office along with the victim’s family and met Additional SP Premlal Kurve, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. Dr Rashmi Patel gave the police a three-hour ultimatum and warned of agitation if action was not taken.
