A man allegedly entered his friend’s house and carried out a knife attack on her family members under the Aerodrome police station area in Indore district on Monday night. The attack claimed the life of the woman’s brother, while she and her mother were seriously injured. Dispute turns fatal According to the police, the accused has been identified as Vedant Solanki, a friend of the woman, Vidhi Lakhawat. Following a dispute, Vedant allegedly went to Vidhi’s house located on 60 Feet Road, forcibly entered the premises, and attacked Vidhi, her mother Anita, and her brother Vedansh with a knife. Vedansh sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Aurobindo Hospital, where he later succumbed during treatment. Vidhi and her mother are currently undergoing treatment in hospital. Accused also injures himself After carrying out the attack, the accused reportedly stabbed himself as well. He has also been admitted to hospital under police supervision. Prior complaint ignored​ Family members revealed that they had approached the police five to six days earlier, complaining that Vedant was harassing Vidhi. At the time, the police had counselled the accused and let him off with a warning. However, on Monday night around 10 pm, Vedant returned to the house and launched the violent assault. During the attack, Vidhi’s brother attempted to intervene and was fatally stabbed. Police investigation underway On receiving information, TI Tarun Bhati reached the spot along with a police team. Police said the accused also threatened the family members during the incident. A detailed investigation is currently underway. The accused, a resident of Bijasan Road in Indore, reportedly lost his parents earlier and was living with his uncle and aunt.
