The Indian sports fraternity took to social media to extend wishes on the occasion of Republic Day. India celebrates its 77th Republic Day, commemorating the special date when the Constitution was adopted in 1950. The legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Manu Bhaker were among the many sports stars who shared wishes. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma extend Republic Day wishes Virat was among the cricket stars who wished fans on the occasion of Republic Day. Taking to Instagram, the star cricketer shared a video which had the message, “Today, we celebrate the Constitution and the values that define us as a nation. India stands strong in its unity. Happy Republic Day.” Rohit also shared an Instagram story of a black and white picture of himself in training and wrote, ‘Republic Day’, accompanied by three hearts of the colours orange, blue and green.

Sachin wished that all citizens of India would have a shared commitment of keeping the nation first, always. Taking to X, the cricket legend penned a message, that read, “Our Republic stands on the strength of its people and the ideals we uphold together. Wishing every Indian a Happy Republic Day. May our shared commitment to the nation always come first! Jai Hind!”
Gambhir on the other hand, highlighted the importance of our Constitution.” We have one Constitution. We should also have just one identity – INDIAN! #HappyRepublicDay,” he wrote on the micro-blogging platform.
Suryakumar Yadav’s post on Republic Day also highlighted the importance of the Constitution. “77 years of a nation guided by its Constitution. Happy Republic Day,” he wrote. Former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, on the other hand, shared, “Dil se Hindustani. Happy Republic Day.” Former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also joined in wishing fans on Republic Day. The 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup winning star wrote, “My pride for Mother India comes from knowing what our country has given me, and from reminding myself every day to give something back to our great nation. May we all carry this sense of pride forward and contribute to nation building in our own unique ways.” Jay Shah wishes fellow Indians on Republic Day, Manu Bhaker expresses pride in representing the nation ICC Chairman Jay Shah also wished fellow citizens from across the world. “Happy Republic Day! Let us celebrate the constitution that shapes India towards stronger and more resilient nation,” he wrote while sharing a poster. Manu Bhaker, who scripted history in 2024 by becoming the first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympics edition, said that she felt proud to be representing the country. Irfan Pathan, Rishabh Pant and Suresh Raina also wished fans on this special day with messages on social media. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Hockey India were also among those from the sports fraternity to share wishes on this memorable day.
