Music composer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal has been accused of defrauding to the tune of ₹40 lakh. Actor and producer Vaibhav Mane, a resident of Sangli district, Maharashtra, has filed a complaint with the police. The complaint states that money was taken in the name of a film project and not returned. Currently, the police have not registered an FIR, and a preliminary investigation is underway. According to police officials, Vaibhav Mane submitted an application to the Sangli SP on Tuesday, demanding that an FIR be registered against Palash Muchhal. According to the complaint, Palash Muchhal and Vaibhav Mane met in Sangli on December 5, 2023. During this meeting, Mane expressed his desire to invest in film production. It is alleged that Palash Muchhal offered him to invest as a producer in his upcoming film ‘Nazariya’. Money was taken with a promise of profit Mane alleges that Muchhal had said that after the film’s release on an OTT platform, an investment of ₹25 lakh would yield a profit of ₹12 lakh. Along with this, an offer was also made to give him a role in the film. The two met twice more after this. By March 2025, Vaibhav Mane had given a total of ₹40 lakh to Palash Muchhal in different installments. Film remained incomplete, money not returned According to Mane, the film project was not completed. When he asked for his money back, he received no response. After this, he contacted the Sangli police and lodged a complaint. Police officials said that an FIR has not yet been registered in the case. A preliminary investigation is underway based on the complaint, and all facts are being verified. According to a report by Hindustan Times, Vidnyan Mane, who claims to be a childhood friend of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana, made serious allegations regarding the abrupt cancellation of her wedding to Palash. Mane alleged that the incident occurred during the wedding celebrations on November 23, 2025, when Palash was allegedly caught in a compromising situation with another woman. “It was a shocking and chaotic scene,” Mane claimed, adding that Palash was confronted and beaten by the Indian women cricketers present at the venue. He further accused Palash’s family of dishonesty and said the situation escalated rapidly, leading to the wedding being called off. Mane stated that he had believed the marriage would help Palash settle down in Sangli, but instead, the events unfolded unexpectedly. These allegations have not been independently verified, and no official statement has been issued by either family. Palash also remained in discussion regarding the broken marriage with Smriti Mandhana Palash Muchhal had previously come into discussion regarding his broken marriage with cricketer Smriti Mandhana. Their marriage was fixed for November 23, 2025, but it broke off. On the wedding day, Smriti Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, fell ill and had to be admitted to the hospital. For this reason, the wedding was postponed. After this, Palash Muchhal also fell ill and had to go to the hospital, due to which the wedding was then postponed. On December 7, 2025, Smriti Mandhana announced the cancellation of the wedding through an Instagram story.
