A car caught fire near the IT Park in Indore’s Bhawarkuan area on Friday evening. On receiving information, the fire brigade rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after spraying around 4,000 litres of water. The incident occurred at around 4 pm. According to Fire Brigade SI Santosh Kumar Dubey, the fire broke out in front of the building of the Impetus company. After the fire started, three to four explosions were also heard. Five people, including three children, were travelling in the car. As smoke began to rise from the bonnet, all of them got out immediately, narrowly escaping harm. Traffic on one side of the road was temporarily stopped during the firefighting operation. Owner says, ‘Car was 4–5 years old’ Car owner Naresh, son of Ram Shankar, said that he owns a Renault Triber car, which was 4–5 years old. He lives on Palda Road. In the evening, he was returning towards Palda with his family when the moving car suddenly caught fire. He immediately got his family out of the vehicle. The fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
