A shocking incident has come to light in Bhind district, where a father shot and killed his 21-year-old married daughter. The accused fired a country-made pistol into her chest. The young woman had been married for just a month and had reportedly eloped with her lover a few days later. Enraged by this, the father allegedly committed the murder. The incident took place in Khiriya Thapak village, under the Mehgaon police station area. On Tuesday evening, the accused, Munnesh Dhanuk, shot his daughter, Nidhi. Her mother later informed the police. On Wednesday morning, the police recovered the body from a field. The accused father has been taken into custody. After his arrest, he reportedly told the police, ‘There was dishonour, so I killed her.’ Married on December 11 According to police information, Nidhi Dhanuk (21), a resident of Khiriya Thapak village, was married to Devu Dhanuk, a resident of Gudagudi Ka Naka in Gwalior, on December 11. On December 28, she went to Maharaj Bada in Gwalior with her husband. After shopping worth around ₹5,000, she asked her husband for water. When he went to fetch it, she disappeared. Following this, her husband, in-laws, and parents searched for her extensively. Daughter called back by father Police said that Nidhi came to meet her father, Munnesh, on Tuesday evening. He allegedly lured her and brought her back to the village. Later that night, he took her to a mustard field outside the village and shot her dead. Nidhi’s mother, Pooja, informed the police, who reached the spot on Wednesday morning. Lover related as uncle According to villagers, Nidhi was in a relationship with a young man from the same village, who was related to her as her uncle. It is alleged that after going missing, Nidhi herself appeared before the Gwalior Kotwali police and stated that she was an adult and had left of her own free will. Villagers believe the father killed his daughter due to fear of social stigma.
