A young man attempting to steal a motorcycle in Khilchipur town of Rajgarh district was dragged on the road by the bike owner and later beaten by a crowd. The incident was captured on video, which has now surfaced. The accused is from Rajasthan, while his accomplice is absconding. Incident in a busy market area The incident took place around 5.30 pm near Chhapiheda Naka in Khilchipur. The area was crowded at the time, with people present at nearby shops and hotels. Badri Lal Tanwar (25), a resident of Semli Lodan village, had come to Khilchipur for work with his friend Suraj Tanwar (18). Both were having snacks at a hotel near the road. See pictures – Bike stolen using master key During this time, a young man named Ramchander Tanwar tried to steal Badri Lal’s Honda Deluxe motorcycle. He used a master key to start the bike and attempted to flee. Owner dragged the thief on the road Seeing his bike being taken away, Badri Lal ran after it and grabbed the rear carrier. The thief increased speed, but the owner held on. The bike dragged him for nearly 50 feet on the road. Thief fell while trying to escape At a turn near a speed breaker, the accused lost balance and fell. He then tried to escape on foot. He jumped over two walls, each about six feet high, near the agricultural produce market. Local people chased the accused and caught him. He was brought back to the road, where some people beat him with kicks and punches. Several bystanders recorded videos of the incident. Police took the accused into custody After receiving information, the police reached the spot and took the accused into custody. A case of bike theft was registered based on the bike owner’s complaint. Accused from Rajasthan, accomplice missing During questioning, the accused identified himself as Ramchander Tanwar (25), a resident of Haripura Dumaria in Rajasthan. He told police that he and his accomplice Jagdish Tanwar had come to Khilchipur with the intention of stealing motorcycles. Police are searching for the second accused.
